This may be the yoga class you’ve been looking for. A little bit yoga and little bit rock and roll, the new Buti Yoga movement is inspiring people to move, sweat and connect with their inner power.
Buti Yoga is a physically challenging class that blends Vinyasa Yoga, core work, tribal dance and a heaping dose of self-love and body positivity. Founded in 2012 by Bizzie Gold, this practice is growing in popularity due to its lively music and good feels.
Buti has been a way to practice movement in a completely embodied way. There is a wildness about it; with the loud, bass-heavy soundtrack and the grounding, tribal dance element that brings me to feel very connected to my divine feminine. It is invigorating and spiritually uplifting.
-Wenonah Michallet, local Buti Yoga student
T-town yogis are spreading the Buti love with several weekly classes around town. Look out for special events hosted on the rooftop at Playground downtown.
Buti didn’t change my body. It changed ME, and physically maybe something happened as a result. The biggest change is the fact that I can sit here after teaching an energetic class full of badass women – sweaty as hell, hair a mess, makeup melting off my eyes – and still feel damn sexy. -Chelsea Moore, local Buti Yoga instructor
